If you get answer for the query in search engine result page then it is a featured snippet. Featured snippet will be displayed on top of organic rank and below the ads (if any) in the box in search engine result page. It is popularly known as answer boxes between search engine users.

Difference between Quick answer and Featured Snippet:

Often many get confused between the quick answer and featured snippet. Google gives “answer” for certain queries like weather report, Conversion (gram to kilogram, Rupee Conversion), on top of search engine result page without links these were called “quick answer”.

Studies say that featured snippet are triggered for the long tail keywords. Start with researching your focus keyword on question type of search queries which contains what, why, how. Not just type keywords trigger featured snippet, even long tail keyword with no questioners also triggers feature snippet. In fact, long tail queries trigger more feature snippet than question-type search queries. Filter question type queries for which you are performing good or ranking high by using search console. Monitor questions what people ask for in social media like twitter and start working on it.

For featuring, ask questions in your article, immediately give the answer concisely in one paragraph and elaborate it in your article. Google is clear enough to identify closely related questions, so one article is enough for the similar question don’t create pages for each question.
